Im Zuge der anstehenden Veröffentlichung von Max Payne 3 hat Rockstar Games neue Informationen enthüllt: Neben dem Multiplayer-Modus bietet
Max Payne 3 über den Arcade-Modus auch beim mehrmaligen Durchspielen reichlich Unterhaltung in zwei weiteren Spielmodi: Score Attack und New York Minute. Informationen zu beiden Modi findet Ihr unter dieser News. Der Arcade-Modus wird mit dem Fortschritt im Single-Player-Modus verfügbar.
Max Payne 3 wird voraussichtlich am 18.05.2012 für Xbox 360 erscheinen.
Introduction
In addition to the cinematic action and immersive story telling of the single player campaign and the hugely competitive and deeply customizable multiplayer components of Max Payne 3 players will also be able to play out chapters already beaten in the single player campaign in ‘Arcade Mode’.
Accessed from the start menu having completed the campaign chapter, Arcade Mode enables players to revisit the level time and again to log scores and times as they try to better their own score and challenge their friends in-game as well as compare stats through Rockstar Games’ social club.
Overview
Arcade Mode further demonstrates the hugely replayable and addictive nature of Max Payne 3 as players test their skills in over the top, stylish action racking up as many points as possible in one of two ways - Score Attack and New York Minute.
Score Attack Mode
Score Attack is a mode available from the Arcade Mode Menu.
Score Attack mode awards the player with points for certain types of shots and kills. Multipliers are added to reward consecutive hits using different mechanics. Points appear above enemies’ heads.
A checkpoint score is tabulated and displayed in the top left next to the highest score of your friends. Once the player has passed a checkpoint their checkpoint score is added to their total level score. Multipliers appear in the ticker below the player’s score.

• BODY 10 POINTS EACH
• HEAD 100 POINTS EACH
• KILLS 50 POINTS EACH
• EXPLOSION KILLS 200 POINTS EACH
• MELE 100 POINTS EACH
• VEHICLE DESTRUCTION 250 POINTS EACH
MULTIPLIER COMBOS:
• 3 HITS IN A ROW x2
• 6 HITS IN A ROW x3
• 12 HITS IN A ROW x5
• 24 HITS IN A ROW x10
Note: Dying and missing ends these multipliers
MULTIPLIER STATES:
• SHOOTDODGE x2
• PRONE STATE x3
• BULLET TIME x2
• MPM x2
• LAST MAN STANDING: x1 – x6
Note: In the event of multiple simultaneous multipliers totals are added up and applied
NEGATIVE POINTS:
• PLAYER SHOT -5 POINTS EACH
• TAKE PILL -50 POINTS EACH
• ENTER LMS -200 POINTS
• KILL INNOCENT -150 POINTS
Flow
Each level in Score Attack is only accessible if it has been beaten in single player story.
At the end of each level the player is returned to the Score Attack scene select menu.
Starting cutscenes are replaced with a Score Attack load screen and the level loads from first checkpoint blend-out.
NY Minute Mode
NY Minute is a mode available from the Arcade Mode Menu.
A hectic mode for speed-running, each level starts out with a timer ticking down from 1 minute and time is added to your clock as enemies are taken out. Kills are worth 5 seconds, headshots are worth 6 seconds.
TIME:
Bullet Time reduces the timer’s progression to correspond to the slowdown and the timer is paused during bullet cams and blend-outs. It is also paused during cutscenes.
If the player’s clock counts down to zero the player fails. If the player dies, runs out of time or chooses to restart they must restart the level from the beginning.
Flow
NY Minute is unlocked after the player has completed the game in Story Mode. Each level in NY Minute is only accessible in the scene select screen if the preceding level has been beaten in NY Minute.
Players are scored by time remaining in their timers at level end.
Multiplayer Avatar Unlocks
There is an avatar unlock attributed to each level that’s awarded to players if they achieve Platinum in both of the Arcade Modes (Score Attack/NY Minute) and will be available to use in Deathmatch modes within the multiplier game.
XP Awards
Players will also be awarded XP for completion of each level and the amount of XP will be determined by the award given.
For example, if a player selects to play the Stadium level in Score Attack Mode the XP award breakdown will be as follows;
• BRONZE 250 (XP)
• SILVER 500 (XP)
• GOLD 750 (XP)
• PLATINUM 1000 (XP)
